Greek Alphabet Letters
Faber-Castell Ink Pens
I don’t speak Greek. I know Baklava, and a few of Aesop’s Fables, but that’s about the extent of it.
Anyway, today we have the third and fourth letters of the Greek alphabet; gamma, and delta. Yep, that’s right, gamma comes before delta, and I didn’t find anything that resembled the letter “C.”
Deltas are triangular areas of land formed at the mouth of a river by sediments carried downstream and subsequently deposited. Deltas are extremely important to wetland areas, and gamblers on the Mississippi.
Gamma Rays were a gift to the ancient Greeks from Aesculapius, the god of healing. The local dentists used the poisonous venom from their stingers as a powerful anesthetic during oral surgery. Once populous in the Aegean Sea, they were also quite tasty, and hunted to extinction about 300 B.C.
Isn’t learning a new alphabet just all kinds of fun?!?

Wow Lisa!
Aesthetically pleasing and educational to boot!
I love the river boat and I’d have baklava over Gamma Ray anyday… at least baklava won’t go extinct.
It’s been too many years since I’ve had the pleasure of devouring baklava. I’ve eaten lots of seafood, but never any rays… that I know of.
I like this piece - you really know how to keep a series alive.
Bill, I think of it as beating a dead horse.
I was curious if you ever thought of changing the structure of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
