X Is For…

X is for…
Ink, Colored Pencil

X is for X-Acto. X is for Xanthorrhoea, an Australian resin that’s colored either yellow-gold, or ruby-red. X is for Xylem, makers of elegant easels, and for Xyron, when you need stickers or lamination. X is for toxic solvents like Xylol and xylene.

Ink, Colored Pencil

X is for Xanthic, from the Greek word for yellow. X is for xerography, a dry process of photocopying, and for xylography, a printing technique using ink. X is for xylo, from the Greek, meaning wood, and forĀ  X-ray techniques used by xperts who reveal old paintings under new.

X is for Xavery, Xeller, and Ximeno. X is for Ximenes, and Ximenez.

X is for getting new art supplies for xmas.

    This is awesome Lisa!!

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen the letter ‘X’ used so much in one space. Especially that list of artists, that was tricky on the eyes.

    Someone has been making use of the encyclopedia and dictionary, or, if you know this stuff, you would be really good at crossword puzzles.

    Thanks Meg! I know there’s a lot of focal points, but at my age it’s difficult for me to stay focused on anything very long.

    Bill- X-word puzzles aren’t my best subject. I never understand the clues. Reference materials are a girls best friend. I heard somewhere that knowledge is power, but I haven’t figured out how to connect it to the light bulbs yet.

    The Greek alphabet?!? The only Greek I know is pi, but I never met a pi I didn’t like!
