Demolition

Pabst Blue Ribbon
Sketchbook, 10 x 7
The wood panel came down over the weekend, and we found 12 rusty beer cans behind the wall. Quite an elegant way of hiding contraband from the boss, isn’t it? Notice the old-fashioned pull tab opening? When I was a kid, pull tabs could be chained together to make groovy belts and makeshift beaded curtains. I don’t miss the 60s.
1. Demolition man. 2. No more wood paneling. 3. New wall studs.
The debris has been cleared away, but there’s still a small area of tile that needs to be removed. Awful, isn’t it?

I’m too pretty for this floor.
Daisy thinks it’s ugly too.
When the cabinets are in I’ll be able to put everything away, and then we’ll be able to get to that little area of tile. Right now, everything in the basement is crammed onto that one little spot. Progress!

You’ve got a good start there Lisa! I love seeing “before and after” type pictures, it makes one appreciate the work that went into it.
12 beer cans, eh? The Other Half and I have found some pretty unusual things during our renos but your discovery is definitely the most interesting…and pull tabs to boot!
Heheh, reminds me of my cousin, who, while building a machine shed, nail-gunned his empty beer cans to the ceiling.
