What’s Up?

Jefferson Memorial

Pen & Ink, 7×10

What’s up? The heat and humidity have returned to Washington DC, and today we turned on the central air conditioner for the very first time. We haven’t had central air since hubby waterproofed the basement 4 years ago. The new unit arrived with the furnace we got earlier this year.

Today, I diddled with drawings and fiddled with the poppies a little more. So where are they? In the basement, and my foot has had enough for one day. I made some more distinctive shapes behind the front poppies, and I like it much better. A few more graduated shapes and I should be able to add it to the portfolio.

Very cool sketch! I didn’t realize you live in DC - do you draw monuments often?

And I can’t wait to see the finished poppies!

We’re just off the beltway in Maryland, and about 20 minutes from the Capitol.

First time drawing a monument, but I’m sure there will be others. They’re great for printing on note cards. :D

    Poppies should be done soon…
